"There are forms of vertigo that do not include spinning"

Don DeLillo

R.O.T.S. is inspired by the world of contemporary American writer Don Delillo and notably his novel White Noise. The "state of happiness," which modern comforts afford us often hides a sense of malaise, a feeling of inner emptiness. Using situations, both real and imaginary, taken from film or literature, R.O.T.S. explores a world where the notion of play is summoned to fill this emptiness. Life is play, but play is also a symbol of struggle—struggle against death, fear and doubt. Play is simulacra or vertigo, a universe unto itself where one must take chances and run risks in order to find ones place.
